Formal Letter to Mayor Adv. V.K. Minimol
Expression of Interest for Pet Crematorium & Aftercare Project at Brahmapuram under CSR / Community Initiatives
Adv. V.K. Minimol
Mayor,
Cochin Municipal Corporation,
Kochi, Kerala.
Greetings from Make Kerala Great Again (MKGA).
On behalf of MKGA, we are writing to formally convey our strong interest in partnering with the Corporation of Cochin for the development and implementation of the proposed Pet Crematorium Project at Brahmapuram.
With the steady rise in pet ownership across Kochi, there is a critical need for humane, dignified, and environmentally sustainable end-of-life aftercare for pets. Traditional burial methods present severe land constraints and public health challenges. Establishing a modern, eco-friendly pet crematorium will address these environmental concerns while providing grieving pet owners with a compassionate and respectful option to honor their companion animals.
Anchored in MKGA’s vision to build a globally recognized, sustainable, and knowledge-driven Kerala committed to environmental governance and social progress, this project aims to create a dignified, hygienic, and eco-friendly civic infrastructure model. By establishing a modern pet crematorium, we replace unscientific burials—which present severe groundwater contamination risks—with clean, high-temperature technology while providing compassionate aftercare and grief support to pet-owning families.
Based on our comprehensive design and implementation framework prepared in collaboration with technical experts (Kumar Group Total Designers), our organization is prepared to support and collaborate with the Corporation on key aspects of the project, including:
- Facility Layout & Design Infrastructure: Developing an eco-friendly facility on the designated site area (spanning approximately 14 cents) comprising an incinerator unit, bier area, helpdesk, caretaker quarters, pet memorial walls, and green park surroundings.
- Environmentally Conscious Operation: Facilitating high-temperature clean cremation technology (operating at 1400°F – 1800°F / 800°C – 1000°C) designed for minimal environmental impact, complete ash refinement, and zero pollution.
- Community Welfare & Grief Support: Providing grief support resources for pet owners and coordinating animal aftercare awareness in partnership with local animal welfare organizations.
- CSR & Financial Mobilization: Engaging corporate partners, funding channels, and community support under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to ensure financial sustainability and capital realization.
MKGA proposes to execute this project through a structured, multi-tier implementation model:
- Architectural & Infrastructure Development: Utilizing turnkey design specifications prepared in collaboration with technical experts (Kumar Group Total Designers), the facility will be established on the designated 14-cent site, incorporating an incinerator unit, bier farewell area, helpdesk, caretaker quarters, and landscaped memorial walls.
- Operational Protocol & Technology Integration: Deploying advanced, high-temperature clean cremation incinerators (operating at 1400°F – 1800°F / 800°C – 1000°C) equipped with wet/dry emission scrubbers to achieve zero smoke, zero odor, and full environmental compliance.
- Streamlined Service Workflow: Managing a 3-stage standardized workflow comprising respectful intake/bier farewell, clean eco-cremation, and ash processing (custom urn preservation or memorial wall placement).
- Financial Mobilization & Turnkey Costing: Leveraging a total capital blueprint (~₹40.70 Lakhs budget for a 14-cent layout) syndicated via corporate CSR partners, community initiatives, and joint municipal oversight to achieve full project completion.
We strongly believe that this joint initiative between Cochin Corporation and MKGA will set a benchmark for civic aftercare infrastructure in Kerala, combining public hygiene, environmental responsibility, and social compassion.
We welcome the opportunity to meet with you and the esteemed Corporation officials at your earliest convenience to present our design proposal, rough budget estimates, and implementation roadmap.
Thank you for your time, leadership, and consideration of our proposal.
Yours sincerely,
The Unaddressed Challenge of Pet Mortality in Kerala
Kerala has witnessed an exponential increase in pet ownership (dogs, cats, and companion animals). However, our cities and towns possess virtually zero dedicated, hygienic, or scientific end-of-life facilities for deceased companion animals.
- Groundwater Contamination: Backyard burials in high water-table zones risk pathogens entering domestic open wells.
- Lack of Space: Apartment dwellers and urban families with small plots face severe distress finding disposal grounds.
- Emotional Trauma: Pet owners lack a respectful, peaceful closure mechanism to honor years of unconditional companionship.
14-Cent Turnkey Eco-Crematorium & Memorial Wall Model
A complete, dignified civic model developed by KUMAR GROUP Total Designers. Combining high-temperature clean cremation technology with peaceful landscaped memorial spaces.
- ✓ Turnkey Budget: ₹40.70 Lakhs total capital expenditure for 14 cents.
- ✓ Zero Pollution: Advanced high-temperature incinerator with scrubbers.
- ✓ Memorial Niche Walls: Permanent dressed stone niches for urn preservation.
- ✓ CSR Aligned: Fits corporate environmental and community welfare mandates.
4 Core Project Objectives
Addressing critical environmental, social, and emotional aftercare needs through structured civic infrastructure.
1. Humane & Ethical Option
Provide pet owners with a compassionate, respectful, and dignified choice for their beloved animal companions, recognizing pets as cherished family members.
2. Environmentally Friendly
Eliminate soil and water table contamination risks caused by unscientific shallow burials, utilizing high-temperature cremation with zero atmospheric emissions.
3. Grief & Emotional Support
Offer peaceful memorial gardens, commemorative wall niches, and supportive bereavement resources for pet parents and children coping with pet loss.
4. Animal Welfare Synergy
Collaborate directly with local animal rescue organizations, veterinary associations, and municipal authorities for subsidized and stray animal aftercare.
Process of Pet Cremation
A three-stage standardized, compassionate, and hygienic delivery workflow.
Receiving the Pet
The pet's body is received respectfully at the helpdesk, verified with ownership documentation, gently cleaned and placed on a dignified bier area for family farewell prayers before being introduced into the primary chamber.
Cremation Process
High temperatures (800°C–1000°C) reduce the body cleanly to bone fragments within a controlled, smokeless, and odorless incinerator unit equipped with multi-stage wet/dry emission scrubbers.
Ash Processing & Memorial
Bone fragments are refined into clean ashes, placed into a sealed commemorative urn for the pet parent, or entombed in the stone memorial niche walls or scattered in the landscaped memorial garden.
Design Brief & 14-Cent Site Allocation
Designed specifically for compact, scenic, and easily accessible municipal or suburban plots across Kerala. Incorporating both functional industrial spaces and empathetic memorial park environments.
